Dune

Folding is an everyday practice in Japan, where from familiarity is born innovation. Paper artist Yuko Nishimura fuses origami and origata in her art, seen on Paperblanks Dune journal cover. In her relief works, the folded curves and straight lines suggest both formal structure and the creative impulse. These tessellated pieces celebrate the ties between art, culture and everyday life in Japan.
